Eco-wick Candle

  • Trim the Wick: Before lighting, trim the wick to about ¼ inch. This ensures a clean and even burn.
  • Light the Wick: Use a long match or lighter to light the base of the wick.
  • Let It Burn: Allow the wax pool to reach the edge of the container before extinguishing the flame. This helps prevent tunneling, where the wax melts unevenly.

A few tips for optimal burning:

  • Avoid Drafts: Place your candle away from drafts to prevent flickering and soot.
  • Keep the Wax Pool Clear: Remove any debris or wick trimmings from the wax pool.
  • Extinguish Safely: Use a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame. Blowing it out can cause smoke and soot.
  • Store Properly: Keep your candle in a cool, dark place when not in use.

By following these simple steps, you can enjoy your eco-wick candle to the fullest.

  • Soot and Smoke: An untrimmed wick can lead to a larger flame, producing excessive soot and smoke. This can not only darken your walls and furniture but also release harmful particles into the air.
  • Uneven Burning: A long wick can cause the candle to burn unevenly, leading to tunneling. This is when the wax melts faster in the center than around the edges, leaving a deep well in the middle.
  • Weak Fragrance Throw: A large flame can consume the fragrance oil too quickly, resulting in a weaker scent throw.
  • Fire Hazard: An overly long wick can pose a fire hazard, especially if left unattended.

To ensure a clean, safe, and enjoyable burning experience, always trim your wick before each lighting.

You can cover the top of your candle with tinfoil and cut an opening on the top roughly 1″ wide, or small enough that tinfoil remains above the candle. Carefully light the candle and let it burn for a few hours. Once the burn completes, the tunneling should be smaller than before. As candles has ''wax memory'', this is why it is important that when you burn your candle (especially for the first time), to let it burn until the waxmelt across the entire surface. This will prevent tunnellingand create an even burn for the duration of the candle's life.

Yes, candles can lose their scent over time.

Even when not lit, the fragrance oils in a candle can gradually evaporate, leading to a weaker scent. This process is accelerated by factors like exposure to heat, light, and humidity.

To preserve the scent of your candles:

  • Store them properly: Keep them in a cool, dark place.
  • Burn them regularly: Consistent burning helps to release the fragrance.
  • Trim the wick: Trimming the wick ensures a clean burn and optimal fragrance release.

By following these tips, you can enjoy your candles for longer and maintain their full scent.

Decorative Candles

While our decorative candles are primarily designed for aesthetic purposes and home decor, you can certainly light them to enjoy their gentle glow. Please keep in mind:

  • Irregular Burn Times: Due to their unique shapes and sizes, decorative candles may burn at varying rates.
  • Hallow Burn: Unlike traditional jar candles, decorative candles are designed to burn in a hollow pattern, creating a mesmerizing visual effect.

Remember, the beauty of these candles lies in their artistic form. Enjoy them as both functional and decorative pieces.

Yes, it's completely normal for handmade decorative candles to have slight imperfections.

As these candles are crafted by hand, variations in color, texture, and shape can occur. Small white marks, often referred to as "frosting," are a natural byproduct of the candle-making process. These imperfections add to the unique character and charm of each candle.

Yes, wax drips are a common occurrence with decorative candles.

As these candles often have unique shapes and designs, wax can sometimes drip as it melts. Once the wax has cooled, you can easily remove the excess from your candle holder or tray.

To minimize dripping, always follow our burning instructions and avoid burning your candle for extended periods.
